Many updates!!! Still isn't done though!!

Okay...so the door is painted to match the shutters, we have toilets and mirrors...and our lights in the house work. The house has been painted...but they painted the trim to match the walls....wtf! I'm hoping they are planning to paint it white. The picture is behind the stove so you can see what the paint color looks like...since the trim is painted that color too, you can't really even tell it's painted. Ugh! What else....oh the carpet color we picked. That should be in by Friday or Monday. That's just a sample in the picture. SO yeah, I'm pissed about the trim. Our master bathroom closet is too small and too close to the toilet to have a door...so that pisses me off. Along with the closet trim and shelves being uneven. It just looks like crap. Ummm, we turned wasted space into a built in shelf in our bedroom....except they decided not to put the shelves in...so we just have a big hole. Another project for us to do. They already ruined the top cabinet by the garage door from opening it and slamming it on the cabinet, so that needs to be fixed now. I'm just a little disappointed with this whole thing. It's taking so long to build and they're not even building it right and ruining our stuff along the way. It is no longer a brand new house. And...2 weeks left of Aug.! If we are not in by Aug. 31st..............I won't be happy. This is just ridiculous anymore.

Stove, dishwasher, doors, garage lights...

Things are looking good! I absolutely LOVE our interior doors!!! I can't wait until they install them. The kitchen is looking great...love all of the appliances. I noticed the garage lights on my way out...exciting. It was pretty dark by the time I made it over to the house last night so I couldn't really see much. I don't think they painted yet...or maybe some rooms are...I don't know. We still have yet to see the carpet samples so hopefully we get those soon so we can get this house done!!

Siding is done, shutters are on and our new vinyl is in!!!!

Yay!! Finally our siding is done! We love our shutters and we are very happy with the new vinyl. Much better!! So excited!!! We should be doing carpet samples this week and making a decision on that. We'll definitely be moved in sometime this month!! Can't wait!!!!!

More light fixtures and flooring update!

I love our light fixtures! I never actually got to see what they would look like...very cute! That's pretty much all they did today...and a bit more siding. They are so slow...like it's ridiculous, but, as long as we're moved in sometime in August, I don't care. I'm ready for this crap to be over with! Sick of waiting!!! Anyway, we had a very long house appt today. I knew what I wanted to do but Kyle couldn't decide...and then he decided...and then he changed his mind again. So we all just drove out to the house with the vinyl samples and picked one that we both liked. So, we are definitely changing the vinyl. Even though we have to pay, we got even more of a deal than what the last blog states. The way we look at it, we'll have to pay to replace it now (for a good deal) or later (for probably a lot more + work!) So, we are doing it now. And I am so happy! The vinyl that's in now is just plain UGLY! And I'm glad we won't have to look at it much longer. We'll probably have the new stuff in by Tuesday or Wednesday. We are changing our carpet color too. We picked out the one we wanted but just to be safe we are going to get 3 different samples to take with us to the house to see which one will look best.

Trim, shelves, wrong doors...

We have lots of trim, some of the closets have shelving, and most of our doors are installed. They are the wrong doors tho (6 panel instead of 2 panel)...but that will be fixed tomorrow probably. The house is looking really nice! I'm getting excited! As far as the vinyl in the kitchen goes, we can replace it if we want but not for free. Dang! It is $1,200 to get something else in but our agent talked them down to $900 and then she said we could use our $500 that we get from referring our friend Scott toward it and she would put $200 of her own money down so really it would only be $200. I'm all for it...just gotta talk to Kyle and see what he thinks. We have a house appt. tomorrow because I want to change the carpet color. Luckily they haven't ordered that yet so we can still change it. We went with a color called sugar cookie...I'm sure you can picture what that looks like, but I'm thinking it needs to be darker and I'm sure Kyle will agree.

Oooops...and we have cabinets too! =)

Okay so, funny story. Haha! I pull up to the house this evening and it just so happens that our agent, Meredith, pulls up at the exact same time I do. She came with the paperwork and vinyl samples to see what happened. So we go in and get the samples out, compare, look at paperwork and guess what....!!!...we were wrong. It is right. After seeing the samples, I saw what had happened. The way the sample pieces were cut was very deceiving. The small ones looked bigger than the big ones....if that makes any sense. So, without me even asking, Meredith said she would see if we can get that out and get something else in. So I went ahead and picked out a color...same size as the bathroom but a tad darker. So I'm praaaaaying that we can do this. Meredith brought some of her family members with her and they even agreed that it looks horrible. So, if we can't get this done then that will be our first project this winter. Yuck. Anyway, so we have cabinets!!! Sooooo pretty!!!!!!!!!! I love them!!! Kyle wasn't with me so he hasn't seen them in person yet but I sent him a pic and he said he loves them too. I was very happy to see how much space we had left...a lot more than I expected. They even look a lot better than I imagined them. I'm very happy with the cabinets!! Our bathroom cabinets are installed as well. The bigger sink area is in the main bathroom and the smaller one is in the master bathroom. We even have a few light fixtures up already too! Yay! So, it's looking good...except for the vinyl in the kitchen. We'll be moved in sometime in August for sure. Probably more toward the end now. Oh well...that's not that far off!

Vinyl. =(

So, we have vinyl...but it isn't really a good thing at the moment. Let me explain. I walk into the house and am completely discusted immediately! I think to myself, this vinyl is absolutely hideous...how on earth did we decide on this color/size for this part of the house!?!? I just stood there and stared at it for like 2 minutes straight....wondering what the heck we were thinking. So, I walk to the bathrooms to see if they put vinyl there too and they did!....but I like it. And then I realize...they put the vinyl in the wrong rooms. SERIOUSLY! THEY PUT THE VINYL IN THE WRONG ROOMS!!!!! I could not believe it. So, the smaller tile vinyl is in the kitchen/dining/foyer area and the bigger tile vinyl is in the bathrooms. It should be the other way around. I specifically remember picking these colors out too. Here's how that went...we picked our bathroom sink colors out and kitchen colors out before vinyl colors...because the samples were never there when we were. So, when it came time for that, we decided on the larger tile vinyl because it was the one we both liked the most. So, I decide to pair it up with the bathroom colors to see if it goes...and it didn't because the sink color we picked was too light and it wouldn't have looked right. So we tried to get a different sink color...couldn't do that because they already made it and ordered it. So we decided to do a different color vinyl and after picking it out, we made the comment about how it would look great in our bathrooms because it matched the sink color better and THE TILES WERE SMALLER (more bathroom like). THAT is how I know they messed up. And because the bathroom vinyl looks absolutely horrid in the kitchen/dining/foyer area. You wouldn't think it'd be that bad but TRUST ME. It is horrible. Yep, so that sucks because vinyl isn't easy to tear up...not only that but they will probably have to re-order it and who knows how long that will take. Plus, it will probably delay everything else that was scheduled for this week. Lovely. Not a good day for the house.

Ready for paint!

It looks like our entire house is sanded and ready for paint! So this week should be a good house week. We're hoping to see paint and trim for sure....and maybe flooring or cabinets!!! Either way, it will be good! If we're right on schedule then we have 3 weeks till move-in!!!!!

More siding, ceiling and closets are painted and sanded.

The ceilings are done...just need the light fixtures now. The insides of all of the closets are also painted and all of the closets are sanded. They added more siding...the entire right side is sided. I can't wait until they put the shutters up...excited to see what they look like on the house. That's about it...nothing too exciting. I'm surprised I even noticed the ceiling. Haha!

More siding! Cabinets and countertops are in!

Loving the siding! While we were at the house today we looked in the garage and saw all of the boxes!!!! So excited!!!! It's so close to being done. There is a pic of the countertop color. It goes really well with the maple cabinets...you will see later. And you can see the white corners on the house now. Yay! We love it! Can't waaaaaaiiiiit!!!!!!!!!

Drywall is complete!

I was amazed to see that they did ALL of the drywall in 1 day! The house looks completely different! I actually kind of got lost when I was walking from bathrooms to bedrooms...haha! So, next step is to sand all of this and then PAINT!!!

Siding and soon dry wall!!

At first I wasn't sure if I liked the siding color but the more I look at it, the more I like it. Once we get our shutters up I'm sure it will look even better. We went inside to see if it was all insulated yet and that's when we saw the drywall! The drywaller will be out on Friday to start that. I can't wait!! If this house is going to be done by the time we were told, then that means we have 3 weeks left! Seriously, I feel like I'm going to be blogging about this forever. It just seems like the day we get to move in will never come! We're getting more and more anxious everyday.

Insulation

It's about halfway done then they will put up dry wall or whatever. That will arrive on Friday so probably next week they will start on that. Then the fun stuff begins!...paint, cabinets, countertops, flooring. Can't Wait!

Stone!!!!

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this! We both think it looks so nice on the house. We picked the stone out after we picked out siding and shutters colors so we can't wait to see how well it goes with that. The siding is in the garage so they should be putting that up any day now. The house is also halfway done with insulation. I'll do another blog about that later.

It's getting soooo close but we still don't really have a set date on when it's going to be done. We're hoping by the first week of August.

We have a basement!

Finally! We were wondering when they were gonna pour this. I hate that we have so many support beam things tho. It kind of ruins the whole layout. Oh well. The corner by the window is where the washer/dryer will go. Not much else to say about this. Haha! Kyle wants to start finishing it this winter so that will be exciting. We're thinking TIKI BAR theme!!!

Roof is done and we have a garage door!

It was a good end to the week for the house. All the shingles are on, the garage door is installed and the house is sealed! I couldn't even get into the house because they locked it...which is good. But, it looks like most of the electrical work and plumbing is done...just waiting on inspection and then they can do the siding and the dry wall or sheet rock...whatever you wanna call it. Haha!

Our appt. last week was cancelled so we re-scheduled for this Tues. So we'll be picking out floors then.

We are finally...well not we because I don't have a job yet, but Kyle is financially where he wants to be so we went and picked out a sectional and put a down payment on it. So that's exciting because I didn't think we'd be doing that just yet.

We're getting closer!!!! =)

The start of shingles!!!

We have shingles on our roof! Finally! I was wondering when they were gonna start on this. Hopefully they can get all of them up there by the weekend, that'd be nice to see. They also did more electrical and plumbing work. They framed the 2 doors we have. (little things excite me, haha!) and the front door has a temporary door knob so we can actually close the door and lock it. Haha! Not that it really matters. So that's kind of what the picture of the front door foyer area is about and I also wanted to post a pic of the awesome plant ledge we have! So excited about that! We actually have two but the one is SO big with the vaulted ceilings...I didn't even expect it to be that big. So that will be fun to decorate. We have another house appt. tomorrow...probably the last one before the final closing. We'll finally get to decide what kind of floors we'll have...I'm hoping for hardwood but we'll see.

Garage and front porch are poured!

This is what they did today...along with more plumbing and electrical work. Our basement still isn't poured and they didn't even touch the roof today. Anyway, I like our front porch...it is bigger than I expected. I wasn't able to get a picture from the front because the yard was flooded and muddy. But, it looks good! Hopefully tomorrow we have a roof because our floor boards are getting wet and it looks like the rain isn't done yet.
